All About Me!

Lovely day to you all! My name is Cyrus Kwok, a self taught guitarist born and raised in Selangor, Malaysia. As I've mentioned before, I have never really attended a paid guitar lesson. My father was a musician long ago and he was part of a local band that had released an album before finally splitting up, so he was a huge influence for me. My guitar journey started when my dad decided to show me a few really basic chords. But from there I began teaching myself to satisfy my hunger for knowledge. And before I knew it, I found myself joining a band called Parachute Owls and started actively performing at different places.

Right now, I'm pursuing a degree in contemporary music at Sunway University. Shout out to Sun-U! In this long journey, I'm aiming to learn from the experienced and connect with people, no matter what music genre they favour! The road ahead may be foggy, but I reckon it's gonna be fun and exciting!

After completing the basic songwriting process, it's time to pass my song over to a producer and also produce a song pitched by another songwriter.  I've decided to produce a song by one of my course mates, Grace. While admittedly her song is pretty short and maybe even incomplete, it definitely has lots of potential. This essentially means that I have lots of space to edit and make some changes to the song. Although I will make certain changes to the song such as extending the intro and verse, it still gives me a rough idea of what the song is about. The Detailed Construction of My Song So Far

So in the last posts, I briefly explained about the construction of my song in the form of words and pictures. Hence in this post I'm gonna attempt to elaborate on things further with not just words and pictures, but also with short clips! Before I started recording, I made sure to check that the tempo was suitable and I did some adjustments and finally settled on 95 bpm.
